2011 Regional recap
Written by Paul Adams
Saturday, 30 July 2011

2011 Midwest Regional Championships started on Friday July 22nd and skiing was finished Saturday afternoon early enough for everyone to clean up for a terrific buffet dinner at the Castle Hill Supper Club Saturday evening.

The Midwest Region was treated to a special treat.  KSO skied our Regional.  Keith and Lauren Lindemann had just enough time to Wake and Trick Friday morning before heading to the Wisconsin State Show Ski Tournament.

Everyone was treated to great water the whole tournament, cept Joe Knapp and John Patterson.  Mother nature gave everyone a lunch break right around Noon Saturday.  Thanks to Janell Heller for playing lunch Lady Friday and Saturday everyone got a well deserved lunch.  When footn resumed Saturday after lunch with Joe Knapp the first back on the water.  Joe had the roughest water of the Tournament and anyone that knows Joe he just skied as if it were glass.  John followed up with the his patent back negative second to none.  After that the water layed right down for the rest of the Tournament.

We had many first time Regional participants and some first time Tournament participants .  Karen Putz and Jake True skied their first Regional Tournament while Billy Longstreet, Ryleigh Stenson, Skylar Stenson, Elizabeth Martin, Evan Sanders, Collin Barber Skied their first 3 event Tournaments.

Zak's dog PJ went for an extended walk on his own Friday.  Luckily he never wandered far and thanks to help of many concerned Barefooters  they were able to find PJ late Saturday afternoon turning a sad end to Zak's  tournament into and happy reunion.

Thanks to all the Sponsors of the Midwest Regional, Pop ChipsRePete'sClub 95Castle Hill , KOA of Hixton and BankFirst National .  Special thanks to Long time sponsor Lake Elmo Sports .

Thank you to all those that helped in making the Midwest Regional Tournament the best Regional Tournament in the Country.
